Peace Pet Rental's Lag is a robotic dog. He can be pretty slow at times and can't perform tasks aside from those written in his program, but despite all this, he's everyone's favorite dog. Soon, however, he is tackling people's problems in ways not included in his program, and it seems almost miraculous... Something mysterious has awakened within his heart even though he's supposed to be a machine with no emotions. What is Lag's true nature? For those lost in despair and sorrow and those with wounded hearts comes this healing tale of love, kindness, and sacrifice.

editorial reviews
ComicsWorthReading - Johanna
The chapter endings are abrupt, with the main emotional high point followed by a quick page of wrapup. These short stories about the heartwarming behavior of a loving dog were a nice bit of escapism, all the “awwws” of owning a pet without having to clean up after it.

I really enjoyed the story and it was kinda heartbreaking. Lag is too adorable, even if he is just a robot.

If you like stories with cute puppy and people relationships, then this is for you!

Lag is a robot animal with a lot of software issues. What makes him special though, is that even though he isn't your typical dog, he still seems to act like one. Lag touches the lives of everyone at the hospital, and almost seems like he has genuine emotions like a real dog.

A must read for dog lovers!

If you like dogs or animals, definitely pick this up!!

The puppies in the story are super cute and the entire book is pretty much dedicated to them. Lag is super cute and very nice, almost everything you could expect from a real dog.

While the characters can be hit or misses, and seem shallow at times, Lag makes up for all of it. Everything. Lag is cute, fluffy, earnest, and full of rainbows and sunshine. I love how he's a bit slow at times; his stupidness makes him that much more endearing. (As opposed to stupid human characters, those I personally despise and find to kill me reading experience).

Definitely a slice-of-life, sort of story. It does dip it's toes into the whole can AI's have emotion thing, or rather the underlying theme depends on it, but the demonstration is done in less of a debate and more of a show. Great plus for this.

Overall, very cheery, very cute, and very full of fluff and good feelings!
