synopsis

Gen Tsukiomi appears to be a normal high school student but there is more to him than meets the eye. So when his old caretaker asks him for help in protecting his current charge, Hikari Kuze, Gen wonders what is going on. Besides being a ditzy junior high school student, is Hikari like Gen, with a secret of her own? In what often feels like a comedy of errors, Gen tries to figure out who is after them while struggling to maintain his quickly dwindling control over the situation. As if that wasn’t enough, a new romantic rival appears! But which one of them is he actually after?

  Old-style fantasy manga
by cookiemonster  02/22/2013
Art: 3/5, Plot: 4/5, Characters: 4/5

This manga has potential. It's old-style shoujo, so be aware that the art style does lean in that era.

The premise revolves around a young werewolf male, Gen, who was isolated from his kind. Through his former caretaker, he finds....more werewolves.

There is a "goal" surrounding the premise of this story - but the characters run more on a reactionary basis rather than an initiative basis. Coming volumes will probably/should elaborate and possible change that.

Speaking of the characters, they're all pretty fun in their own right. The humor can get pretty slapstick at times, and gender-queer related as well, (I don't know if this means the mangaka is a slash fan or against it, though I lean towards the former. haha). But it's not so obvious or intrusive. Plus I have a soft spot for gentlemen-in-distress stories. I can see the beginnings of character development, though it's still shallow at this point.

Overall, a 4. It's not mind-blowingly amazingly epic, but definitely fun and interesting. I could see this gaining traction as the volumes go on.
