Noda has never wanted to be a source of disappointment or shame to his family. Raised in a pious, conservative household, he knew he had certain expectations to meet. Get a job, find a wife, have children- these were to be his destiny. But Noda has a secret. 10 years ago, he had a torrid sexual affair with an acquaintance, a male acquaintance. Noda had kept himself from getting to know Wakasugi too well, hoping to distance himself from emotional entanglements. After all, it had to end sometime s two men couldn't carry on a forever type of relationship. When it got too personal, Noda pushed Wakasugi out of his life.

Now, Noda is all alone in his newly built house. His wife has left him, and they've had no children together. Then came the unexpected phone call from Wakasugi. Feelings buried for ten long years were given an opportunity to be laid to rest. But the outcome was not as either man expected, as passions that had simmered for ten long, lonely years insist upon a reckoning. Is Wakasugi ready to risk his heart again, and can Noda find the courage to step out of the closet he has locked himself and his emotions into? Two hearts reach across time and emotional distance to feed the fever that burns...

Like a fever you can't sweat out

The story is told per the POV of the uke - Noda - which was somewhat kind of a bad thing for me AT FIRST since I'm not really particular with first person point of views - however, the more I read this book - the more it got interesting - everything's explained and not to mention smexy scenes are hot too!!

Like a fever - the bad things come and go in this story (like stalker ex boyfriend, suicidal ex wife, parents being a nag) - might discourage you but I suggest you read it - it IS fun!

I don't generally bother writing reviews but I loved this title. The story just drew me in. The pacing was excellent and I didn't notice any awkwardness in expression (which is overpowering in some translated novels). The story was serious and a little sad and just charming. It is a more mature storyline - I don't mean in terms of sexual content but rather the tone of the writing. It does have that drop at the end which I find typical in Japanese writing which means there could be other books following. As soon as I finished it I went to check if there were any other novels available from this author - sadly there aren't.
  Wish there was more...

This novel was quite well written. It had so many elements in it that followed the norm of yaoi publications but also many others that was unique and one of them was the ending. I don't want to say too much but to me, this novel felt unfinished because the ending was not what I expected.
